Educating in a World Designed to Distract
Aug. 20, 2026
Plenary Session
Digital Action
Long before the first class of the day, children and teenagers have already been influenced by short videos, algorithms, notifications, influencers, and artificial intelligence capable of affecting behavior, relationships, attention, and their perception of the world. In this new context, education, protection, and digital responsibility are now intertwined, particularly in light of new legislation and requirements such as the ECA Digital, which are beginning to shape expectations, decisions, and practices within educational institutions themselves. This conversation offers a thought-provoking reflection on the impacts of the digital environment on the development of new generations and on the real challenges faced by schools in a scenario where educating, protecting, and acting strategically have become inseparable parts of the same mission.
