Beyond Clichés: Authorship, Creativity, and Thinking in School
Aug. 20, 2026
Plenary Session
Educational Activity
In a world marked by instant access to information and advances in artificial intelligence, the greatest challenge facing education may not be finding answers, but rather preparing people who are capable of asking good questions, constructing meaning, and forging new paths. In this panel, Katia Smole and Marina Pinheiro reflect on how schools can foster the development of critical thinking, agency, and creativity through learning experiences that value inquiry, dialogue, problem-solving, and knowledge production. An invitation to rethink pedagogical practices that prepare students to act critically, creatively, and as active agents in the face of present and future challenges.
