The Bett Nordeste 2025 Conference, one of the region’s largest education gatherings, officially opened on Wednesday morning (27) at 11 a.m. in the Plenary Auditorium at the Recife Expo Center in Pernambuco. The event, which brings together educators, administrators, and experts to discuss the future of education, was attended by leading figures in the sector.

In attendance at the ceremony were Claudia Valério, director of Bett Brasil; José Ricardo Diniz, president of the Pernambuco Private Schools Union (Sinepe-PE) and vice president of the National Confederation of Educational Institutions (CONFENEN); and José Sobral, president of the National Council of Secretaries of Education (CONSED), Sergipe’s State Secretary of Education, and Sergipe’s vice governor. The panel was moderated by Ciro Guimarães, a journalist, TV Guararapes host, and university professor.

At the opening of the event, whose central theme is “A New Approach to Learning to Build Regenerative Futures,” Bett Brasil Director Claudia Valério highlights the event’s purpose, which reflects a commitment to fostering discussions about the current challenges facing education. The new paths toward reinventing learning require courage, innovation, and a commitment to life.

“This new approach to learning involves explaining what we teach, how we teach it, and, above all, why we teach what we teach. This is the theme you’ll be hearing a lot about over the course of these two days, which has been broken down into four pillars—the so-called four Cs: coexistence, consciousness, care, and creation—that open the door to discussions on ethics, sustainability, well-being, student leadership, and methodologies that foster our students’ autonomy and creativity. “I must also highlight the importance of topics related to technology and innovation,” said Claudia Valério.

For José Ricardo Diniz, president of Sinepe-PE, the Bett Nordeste Conference represents much more than an opportunity for professional development; it combines a business and management perspective with the heart of education.

“We dream of an event that can bring this theme to private schools as well as public schools, because we’re part of the same system; we have many shared initiatives that are very important to us—after all, we work with children and teenagers every day. “Our role is educational,” he points out. According to him, the event reflects the evolution of education from the 1970s and 1980s to the present day, highlighting the growth and importance of Bett over time.

Diniz also praised the city’s hospitality, highlighting Recife as the ideal venue for the event. “Direct contact with educators allows us to forge a genuine connection, strengthening the quality of education, its value, and its capacity for transformation,” he emphasizes. “Learning goes hand in hand with social-emotional development; the post-pandemic landscape has brought significant changes to the teaching process, requiring critical reflection and constant adaptation,” he notes.

Wrapping up the opening panel, José Sobral, Secretary of Education for the State of Sergipe and president of CONSED, also emphasized the importance of the meeting for education in the Northeast. “This is an essential forum for bringing together the efforts of public and private school systems, promoting inclusion, equity, and innovation in education. “Education relies on a large number of people—individuals who are well-prepared and have a solid education, capable of evaluating and collaborating with initiatives in a conscious and critical manner,” he stated.

Sobral emphasized the need to strengthen dialogue between public and private school systems and further stressed the need to create a respectful environment where every student’s identity is recognized and respected. “Dialogue between public schools, private schools, and the business sector must be consistent, combining educational and social outcomes to promote inclusion, equity, and social justice for all,” he concluded.

Organized by Bett Brasil in partnership with Sinepe-PE, the program features three concurrent sessions, with more than 60 national and international speakers, as well as an exhibition area showcasing solutions, products, and innovations from more than 40 companies in the education sector.

The Bett Nordeste Conference took place on August 27 and 28 and featured a program of discussions, panel discussions, and presentations focused on innovation and technology in education.
