Now you can listen to the news from the Bett Blog
New feature ensures access to information for people with visual or reading difficulties and enhances the reader experience

How about listening to the top stories from the education sector? Want to stay well-informed without having to stare at your computer or cell phone screen? With that in mind, Bett Brasil has added a read-aloud feature to the articles on the Bett Blog. Just click the “Listen” button at the beginning of the text and listen to the news.

Listeners also have the option to speed up or slow down the playback, enlarge the font, and download the audio version of the report to make the experience even more enjoyable. There’s no need to install any software or other tools—just press play.

More than just allowing readers to engage in other activities while staying up to date, this feature ensures that information is accessible to those with vision or reading difficulties. According to the latest IBGE census, Brazil has approximately 35 million people with low or moderate vision, more than 47 million with eyestrain, and approximately 56 million who are illiterate or functionally illiterate.

In addition, according to the Brazilian Dyslexia Association (ABD), 10% of the Brazilian population is affected by this learning disorder, which is characterized by difficulty reading.

This new feature is available on both the mobile version and the desktop version of the Bett Blog. The text-to-speech conversion is handled by software developed by ReadSpeaker, which combines pre-recorded phrases in a matter of seconds to form the text being read. The voice reading the news is unhurried and accent-free to ensure full understanding of the content.

The inclusion of this tool reinforces support for the Brazilian Law on the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (Law No. 13,146), promoting greater digital inclusion and expanding the audience that will now have access to the blog’s content.
