The 32nd edition of the event invites reflection on the role of each individual in the face of changes in education and organizes its program around four themes: being, knowing, doing, and living together

The 32nd edition of Bett Brasil, Latin America’s largest event for innovation and technology in education, will be held May 4–7, 2027, at Expo Center Norte in São Paulo (SP), with the central theme: “The courage to transform. Action begins with each of us. Transformation happens through all of us.”

The proposal for this theme stems from the challenges facing education, such as artificial intelligence, new ways of learning and working, mental health, climate change, inequalities, and shifts in human relationships.

For Bett Brasil, transformation does not mean having all the answers, but rather developing a willingness to ask questions, understand, experiment, make choices, reevaluate paths, engage in dialogue, and take action. The theme highlights the role of the individual in the face of change, without losing sight of the fact that meaningful transformations in education depend on collective effort.

According to Adriana Martinelli, Director of Content at Bett Brasil, the concept of courage proposed for 2027 is not related to the absence of fear or to the expectation that educators and leaders will individually solve systemic issues.

“Courage is understood as an attitude toward change and uncertainty. It is the willingness to ask questions when the known answers are no longer sufficient; to understand before deciding; to try new approaches; to recognize what needs to change; to review practices; to listen to other perspectives; to make choices and take action,” explains Adriana.

From this perspective, the content framework of the 32nd edition revisits the four pillars presented in the report “Education: A Treasure to Be Discovered, ” prepared by the International Commission on Education for the 21st Century for UNESCO, under the coordination of Jacques Delors. Originally published in 1996, the document proposed four fundamental areas of learning for lifelong education: learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together, and learning to be.

In 2027, Bett Brasil revisits these pillars through the lens of contemporary issues, such as artificial intelligence, new relationships with knowledge and work, mental health, sustainability, diversity, and digital culture. The question guiding the program is: What does it mean to Be, Know, Do, and Live Together in the world that is being built right now?

Four Approaches to Thinking About Education

The four pillars take on new meaning in the Bett Brasil 2027 program and are associated with courage as an attitude toward change.

  • The Courage to Be

The first step, which involves learning to be, begins with reflection on who we are and who we are becoming. The curriculum should address topics such as human development, identity and purpose, mental health and well-being, social-emotional skills, autonomy, ethics, conscious leadership, life planning, holistic education, and the relationship between technology and humanity.

Among the questions raised are how to care for those who learn, teach, and lead; who we need to be in the face of a changing world; and what remains essentially human in a world marked by technological advancement.

  • The Courage to Understand

The second movement builds on the process of learning to know and addresses the need to interpret, select, relate, and produce knowledge in an environment characterized by the widespread circulation of information.

Artificial intelligence, digital culture, science and research, data and evidence, media literacy, curriculum, assessment, critical thinking, new ways of learning, and the relationship between human and artificial intelligence are among the content areas. The proposal also explores what it means to learn in the age of AI and what knowledge remains essential.

  • The Courage to Take Action

Learning by doing is associated with the ability to turn knowledge into action. In this context, the program addresses innovation, creativity, experimentation, skills, entrepreneurship, problem-solving, technologies applied to education, maker culture, new teaching practices, the future of work, and impact-oriented learning.

The proposal is based on questions such as what needs to be explored, what skills will be necessary to thrive in a changing world, and how to put innovation into practice.

  • The Courage to Build Together

The fourth step, which involves learning to live together, is based on the understanding that complex challenges in education cannot be solved individually.

Collaboration, inclusion, diversity and equity, social cohesion, citizenship, participation, dialogue, school culture, human relations, safety and digital citizenship, collective intelligence, and community building are all part of this pillar.

Among the issues that guide the movement are how to work with people who think differently, how to create environments of belonging, and how to strengthen relationships in contexts marked by polarization and isolation.

Thematic Content

The Bett Brasil Conference aims to broaden the dialogue on what educators and leaders need to understand in the face of change and, above all, what they can do as a result.

Under the theme “Courage to Transform,” the program will be structured to connect contemporary challenges in education to the decisions and actions of those who educate, lead, and work in educational institutions. The discussions will address the impacts of these changes on people, learning, management, work, and society, as well as the paths being forged in response to these challenges.

“The Bett Brasil conference will be a forum for understanding the major transformations in education and discussing ways to respond to them. It’s less about predicting the future of education and more about understanding the present, making choices, and charting a course to transform it,” Adriana points out.

The conference will also take a more integrated approach to Basic Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education. Instead of a rigid separation between these segments, major themes may span different areas, allowing participants to tailor their experience based on their areas of interest.

Ahead by Bett Brasil continues to be a part of discussions related to higher education and vocational education, but will be more closely integrated into the Congress ecosystem. The traditional Managers’ Forum, meanwhile, remains dedicated to the challenges and discussions surrounding Brazilian basic education.

The program will be organized into different formats, including Plenary Sessions, the Aquarium, themed auditoriums, and workshops, combining presentations, interactive discussions, and hands-on experiences. In addition to the conference venues, the event will feature other experiences, such as the Public Education area, the Startups Arena, and Tech User Labs, among others. There will also be a large exhibition area with more than 350 providers of educational solutions.

The 32nd edition of Bett Brasil will offer participants a variety of content, experiences, and perspectives, allowing each person to tailor their own experience at the event.
