The 2022 edition of Bett Brasil, Latin America’s largest education and technology event, was marked by the event’s return to an in-person format at the Transamérica Expo pavilion in São Paulo. Spanning four days, the trade show exceeded attendance expectations, drawing more than 29,000 in-person and online visitors, and hosted over 270 exhibiting brands that showcased technological and educational innovations for both private and public school systems.   

"We are very pleased with the results of this year’s Bett Brasil, especially with the number of visitors in the exhibition hall and the fully packed auditoriums at the Congress and Managers’ Forum. This reflects the growing momentum in the education market and the anticipation surrounding the return to in-person events. We’ve received many reports from partners and exhibitors about how productive the fair was for building relationships and closing new deals. We also had new companies that have already reached out to us expressing interest in participating in the 2023 edition,” celebrated Bett Brasil’s general director, Claudia Valério.  

Adriana Martinelli, Bett Brasil’s content director, highlighted that one of the key indicators of success for this edition is its theme, “Co-creating the Education of the Future.” According to her, the most meaningful aspect was seeing people fully engage with the experience offered by the event, which provided opportunities for interaction, conversation, and relationship-building. She also noted that, after these two years of social isolation caused by the pandemic, people seem to be more aware of the importance of listening, which is fundamental to the learning process.  

“The themes of the Congress and the Administrators’ Forum were very well received by the audience, and we saw a lot of engagement during the presentations—with questions, comments, and thought-provoking remarks—which shows that the content met expectations in terms of fostering dialogue and offering insights to rethink the future of education. The debates that took place during these days at Bett Brasil clearly point the way toward what will happen in schools in the short and medium term,” Adriana emphasized. 

Attending the official opening of Bett Brasil, Education Minister Victor Godoy noted that learning recovery should be the focus of our efforts at this time and that technology is a powerful ally of education in helping us achieve this goal. “At Bett, we had the opportunity to showcase our key products, projects, and services currently underway at the Ministry of Education (MEC) to strengthen Brazilian education. In this regard, the ministry is open to collaborating closely with states, municipalities, and the entire national and international education network.”   

Transformative Teacher Award - One of the highlights of Bett Brasil 2022 was the announcement of the winners of the Transformative Teacher Award. The results were revealed by Professor Wellington Cruz, president of the Significare Institute, and Adriana Martinelli, Content Director at Bett Brasil. The Institute and Bett Brasil are partners in promoting the award. 

“The common thread we see among the 12 finalist projects is a commitment to students, the community, and the planet. There’s a very clear connection between teachers and students,” Cruz noted. “It’s been two years since we’ve had the physical presence of Bett Brasil. We’ve continued online, but human beings are social by nature. It’s as if this were the first edition of the event,” emphasized Adriana, who also revealed that the third edition of the Award, featuring new elements, will be launched soon.  

The first-place winners by category were as follows: Andrea Lange, from Joaçaba (SC), with the project: “You and Me: In Our World, Our Differences Make Us Equal” (Early Childhood Education); Karina Letícia Júlio Pinto, from Timóteo (MG), with the project: “Câmara Mirim 2019” (Elementary School, 1st Cycle); Celiana Mota Rodrigues, from Brasília (DF), with the project “Desiderata” (Upper Elementary School); and Renato Nunes Ramalho, from Cajazeiras (PB), with the project: “Reuse of Rainwater and Ash in Schools in the Paraíba Semi-Arid Region” (High School). 

Bett Brasil 2023 - The next in-person edition of Bett Brasil will take place May 9–12, 2023, at the Transamérica Expo Center in São Paulo, featuring more auditoriums and other new features to be announced soon.
