Transformative initiatives in Pará, the Federal District, Amazonas, and São Paulo have placed Brazil among the top 50 schools in the world

Four Brazilian schools are among the fifty finalists for the “World’s Best School Prizes 2025”, an international award organized by the global organization T4 Education, with support from the Lemann Foundation, Accenture, and American Express. The award recognizes innovative, high-impact educational projects that transform local communities and improve students’ lives.

Alongside India and the United Kingdom, Brazil leads in the number of nominations for this edition, with four institutions in the running. The awards feature five traditional categories: community collaboration, environmental action, innovation, overcoming adversity, and promoting healthy lifestyles. The Brazilian schools that are finalists are:

  • Overcoming Adversity: Parque dos Sonhos State School in Cubatão (SP).
  • Overcoming Adversity: Saint-Hilaire Municipal Elementary School , Porto Alegre (RS).
  • Community Partnership: COC São Luís School , in São Luís (MA).
  • Supporting Healthy Lifestyles: Sesi da Indústria Portão School in Curitiba (PR).

In addition, there is also an extra category—Best School in the Community—which will be determined by a public vote. The winners in the other categories will be selected by a panel of experts in basic education. The six winners will be announced in October.
