A need that arose at the Oracle Innovation Center in São Paulo led to the creation of StartStop.ai, a platform that automates stages of podcast production using artificial intelligence.

The tool was the main topic of the most recent episode of Conexão Bett, which featured Nova XD’s CIO, Vinícius Alfredi Cruz; Nova XD’s advisor, Hálef Soler; and Nova XD’s CTO and founder of StartStop.ai, Aron Scolaro.

During the conversation, Soler explained that the idea arose from a challenge he identified while leading the implementation of the Oracle hub. The space was created to allow customers and partners to experience the company’s technology solutions firsthand.

According to him, customer visits often elicited surprised reactions, but it was difficult to quickly turn those positive testimonials into content.

“Customers would come to the Oracle Innovation Center and leave looking surprised. I’d think: When’s the best time to record an audio or video testimonial? Right now. But there was a backlog of requests to produce that content with the company’s marketing team. By the time the material was ready, the moment had often already passed,” he said.

Recognizing this bottleneck led to the proposal to create a tool capable of automating the entire podcast production process, from recording to publication. “I have a problem. I need to produce a podcast on my own, ” Soler summarized as he recalled the moment he presented the challenge to the Nova XD team.

From Need to Product Development

Scolaro explained that the search for a ready-made solution did not yield satisfactory results. That’s when the team decided to develop its own platform. “We started looking for something that could solve this problem, but we couldn’t find anything. There wasn’t a complete solution that covered everything from recording to content delivery.”

The StartStop.ai platform has gradually evolved to incorporate features that go beyond simple audio and video editing. Today, the platform allows users to generate scripts, automatically create clips tailored for different social media platforms, translate subtitles into various languages, produce articles for blogs and LinkedIn, analyze a piece’s potential to go viral, and publish content directly to digital channels.

For Cruz, the fact that Nova XD originated in the events industry helped accelerate the solution’s development. “We got our start in the events industry, where everything has to work within very tight deadlines. That culture of solving problems quickly helped in the platform’s development,” he said.

StartStop.ai took about two months to develop and was unveiled during the launch of the Oracle Innovation Center in March of last year.

Opportunities for Educational Institutions

When discussing the applications of technology in education, the participants emphasized that the platform can be used to record classes, organize content, and expand students’ access to material produced in the classroom.

According to Scolaro, the solution can also serve as a platform to support learning management. Using recordings made in the classroom, it is possible to organize content by topic, create specific playlists, select relevant excerpts, and track students’ engagement with the materials.

“I can gather all the videos recorded on a specific biology topic, for example, and automatically create a playlist featuring the highlights. I can also track how much of the content each student has watched and which topics sparked the most interest,” he explained.

The data generated through use of the platform can also support educational efforts. According to Cruz, analyzing the content accessed by students can help teachers and administrators identify learning difficulties.

“If a student consistently searches for arithmetic content, for example, this may indicate interest or difficulty. This information helps the institution better understand each student’s needs and provides additional insights to support the learning process,” he said.

AI as a Tool to Support Teaching

Reflecting on the future of education and the impact of tools that use artificial intelligence, Scolaro argued that AI should take on operational and repetitive tasks, allowing educators to focus their efforts on aspects related to human interaction.

“AI is here to stay. It acts as a co-pilot, assisting with tasks that do not necessarily require human intervention. This allows teachers to devote more time to connecting with their students,” he said.

In the expert’s view, the main debate is no longer about the adoption of artificial intelligence, but rather about how it will be incorporated into educational practices. “The question is no longer whether AI will be part of education, but how it will be part of it. The challenge lies in understanding how to use these tools to improve learning, management, and the various areas of education,” he concluded.
