Diversity and inclusion in education is the topic of the new episode of Conexão Bett, Bett Brasil’s talk show featuring experts who offer a different perspective on the most relevant and current issues in the education sector. 

This year’s first episode features Michael França, who holds a Ph.D. in Economic Theory from the University of São Paulo (USP), is a researcher at Insper, and a columnist for the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper. França is also one of the creators of the Folha Racial Equality Index (Ifer), which seeks to measure the gap in racial inequality across Brazilian states in terms of education, income distribution, and age distribution.

During the event, the expert explains how Ifer works, presents the most recent data on access to higher education for the Black population, and discusses the challenges and strategies for reducing inequality of opportunity between white and Black people in the country.

France also discusses her expectations for participating in the Bett Brasil Conference, where she will be one of the speakers in a roundtable discussion on the theme “Education and Democracy in Diversity.” Check out the event schedule and register here.
