Bett Brasil Director Participates in a Panel on the Education Market in Latin America During the Bett Show
On the opening day of the Bett Show, this Wednesday (24), the Global Futures auditorium hosted the session “Bridging the New Frontier: Latin America in the Global EdTech Spotlight,” featuring the director general of Bett Brasil, Claudia Valério, the CEO and founder of Learnbase, Lars Janér, and the CEO of Edlatam Alliance, Fernando Valenzuela. The panel discussed the current state of the Latin American education market for a global audience.
Claudia said she was pleased with the response from the audience that attended the event. “Judging by the quality of the questions, we could tell that the participants were very knowledgeable,” she said. “I noticed that investors are very concerned about risk in Latin America, which is sometimes higher than in Europe and the United States, due to currency fluctuations. These are concerns common to any business, but it is possible to deal with these challenges,” she assured.
Claudia believes that the presence at the Bett Show was important for showing the world that the Latin American education market is thriving and experiencing significant growth. “At Bett Brasil, every year we welcome new international exhibitors—usually edtech companies looking to launch their businesses there. And we have successful examples of companies that have ended up establishing themselves there. We’re very happy to see the progress these companies have made and to have served as a gateway into the country,” she said.

During his remarks, Lars Janér emphasized that Brazil is going through a particularly interesting period. “We have the federal government’s support for connecting schools. There is even a national strategy for remote areas,” he said. He also pointed out that the aging population opens up new opportunities for adult education, as adults need to retrain or update their skills to remain in the workforce.
Valenzuela emphasized that the current phase is positive and that there is already a lot of activity in the market. The most common developments have been partnerships, mergers, and acquisitions. “Collaboration and the ability to connect major players with other local companies are critical elements. More and more, what we’re seeing is a game of integration,” he said.
