With the rise of new technologies, the Fi.Git.Al concept—which integrates the physical, social, and digital realms—has emerged as an innovative approach to enhancing classroom learning. Érica Stamato, co-founder and vice president of Educacross, highlighted how this concept can transform the experience of students and teachers.

“Fi.Git.Al is a term that helps us think about these three realms and how they relate to one another. The physical and social realms have always existed, while the digital realm is more recent, having been part of society for about 50 years. By bringing these three elements together in education, we can better meet the needs of digital natives, providing an environment that’s richer in experiences and learning opportunities,” the expert explained during her appearance at Conexão Bett. 

With the new legislation restricting cell phone use in schools, the expert emphasizes the importance of guiding students toward responsible and critical use of electronic devices.

“We work with digital literacy so that children understand the need to use technology critically, responsibly, and with a focus on learning. The new law can help teachers manage their classrooms, since competing for students’ attention with the digital world is a major challenge. In addition, the legislation provides a framework for schools and families to structure the use of devices in a more balanced way,” he said.

Another point raised by Érica is the workload faced by teachers, who must deal with a range of demands within the school environment.

“Schools face many demands from society, which makes a teacher’s job even more challenging. Ever since Educacross was founded, Reginaldo (co-founder) and I have been thinking of ways to make educators’ lives easier. We’ve created programs based on active, personalized, and playful learning, taking advantage of the fact that children are digital natives. As a result, they engage with the learning process while teachers act as facilitators, observing interactions and monitoring the automatically generated performance reports,” he noted.

As for future technological trends in education, Érica pointed out the cognitive education as one of the major trends of the future. “Cognitive learning encompasses both the use of technology and active, competency-based learning. It is a model that fosters skills such as focus, memory, and attention, in addition to integrating simulators and digital games into the educational process,” he emphasized.

She also mentioned the growth in investment in simulators and intelligent robots, highlighting the positive impact of these solutions on education. “Digital games have been expanding due to their learning potential, and simulators are increasingly being used in education. In addition, intelligent robots represent one of the main areas of investment in educational technology,” she concluded.
