The 36th edition of the Bett Show in London kicked off on Wednesday, January 22. The event, which took place last week, set aside a special section for Brazilian education on its very first day.

Rossieli Soares, Secretary of Education for the State of São Paulo and ambassador for Bett Educar, participated in the welcome session at Bett Brasil’s “Global Showcase,” alongside Claudia Costin, director of the Center for Excellence and Innovation in Educational Policy at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV); Maria Alice Carraturi, director of Content at Bett Brasil; and Claudia Valério, director of Bett Brasil.

Rossieli highlighted some of the challenges currently facing Brazilian education. “One of the major problems in Brazilian education is still the large number of young people out of school. PISA, in fact, clearly illustrates this difficulty, with problems that begin in the early years and continue to accumulate, and we end up losing those students,” explained the Bett Educar Ambassador.

The Brazilian delegation attending the Bett Show also includes Cecília Motta, Secretary of Education for Mato Grosso do Sul and president of the National Council of Secretaries of Education (Consed); Simone Telles, academic director of the Virtual University of the State of São Paulo (Univesp); and several experts in the field, such as Nilce Costa, Executive Secretary of Consed.

The Bett Show UK 2020 attracted more than 34,000 visitors to ExCeL London in search of industry trends. The international trade show featured more than 800 representatives from the education sector and 103 edtech startups. Over the course of the four-day event, the conference brought together 300 educators and industry influencers for more than 100 seminars.
