Higher education gets its own section at the Bett Show in London
At this year's event, Bett UK set aside an area for exhibitions and talks focused on higher education. Named "Ahead," the area brought together companies offering solutions and products for the sector, such as Labster (virtual labs), AWS (Amazon's cloud computing service), Stone (which provides servers and cybersecurity), and Workday (which offers finance and HR services for institutions).
Professor Marcello Nitz, from the Mauá Institute of Technology, attended Bett UK in London for the first time in search of innovations that could make a difference for his institution. “I wanted to come to see trends, find out what’s happening around the world, and learn what suppliers have to offer. This rapid transformation driven by the pandemic is leading us to a situation where in-person and remote learning will coexist much more,” he said.
For Alexandre Marino, this isn’t his first time attending the event, but it’s still worth coming back. “I first attended Bett UK in 2016 when I was living in England and doing my postdoctoral research. I’ve been captivated ever since, because here we have a wealth of ideas, innovations, and products that can actually be put into practice,” he said.
