The Bett Nordeste Conference announced the six projects selected for the first edition of “Schools in Action”, an initiative that will recognize and highlight best practices developed by private schools in the North and Northeast regions. The selected projects will be presented during the event, which will take place on August 19 and 20 at the Recife Expo Center in Recife, Pernambuco.

The initiative, carried out in partnership with the Union of Educational Institutions in the State of Pernambuco (SINEPE-PE), aims to expand the reach of projects that have a positive impact on students, educators, and school communities, enabling successful experiences to be shared with education administrators and professionals from different institutions.

Topic: Dia Lab – Artificial Intelligence Lab
Name: Caíke Andrade, principal of Colégio Motivo (PE)

Abstract: The project implements an artificial intelligence literacy curriculum that combines instructional materials, a digital platform, teacher training, and AI tools to support its adoption in schools. The goal is to prepare students to understand and use these technologies in a critical, ethical, and responsible manner.

Topic: Eleanor's Compass: Artificial Intelligence, Gamification, and Female Leadership in Teaching Medieval Technologies to High School Students
Name: Carolyne do Monte, teacher at Colégio Top (PB)

Abstract: The project integrated history, artificial intelligence, and gamification to enable high school students to create digital narrative games about the evolution of technology throughout history. Using methodologies such as the flipped classroom and collaborative production, students developed games that connect historical content to contemporary issues, employing artificial intelligence resources in a critical and responsible manner.

Theme: The Northeast as an Educator: Pedagogical Practices That Transform Realities
Name: Rosane Galante, pedagogical coordinator at Colégio e Curso Gauss (BA)

Abstract: "How a school in rural Bahia fostered a culture of educational excellence, pedagogical innovation, and student leadership outside the South-Southeast region, transforming not only the lives of students but also those of an entire community."

Topic: Practices for Reinforcing Learning and Developing Metacognition
Name: Alena Nobre, Academic Director at Colégio Saber Viver (PE)

Abstract: This practice involves administering weekly online quizzes to reinforce the material covered in class. The goal is to consolidate learning, encourage self-regulated learning, and develop metacognition, enabling students to identify their progress and recognize the areas where they still need to improve.

Topic: The Ecosystem of Recovery: Integrating Coexistence, Academic Consistency, and Leadership in CBV’s New Chapter
Name: Sybele Barros, campus director at Colégio CBV (PE)

Abstract: This case study presents the process of rebuilding school culture following an institutional and disciplinary crisis faced by the institution in 2023. The project describes the reorganization of the school environment through the inseparable integration of two key areas: academic excellence and ethical conduct.

Topic: Hackathon with the teaching staff of
Name: Paula Leão, principal of Escola Vila Aprendiz (PE)

Summary: The initiative brings together teachers and educational staff for a hackathon to collectively envision a school model capable of meeting the needs of students today and in the future. The proposal uses a collaborative approach to engage educators in shaping the institution’s philosophy and strategies aimed at the holistic development of students.
