On August 27 and 28, the Recife Expo Center in Pernambuco will host the Bett Nordeste 2025 Conference, a traveling event organized by Bett Brasil in partnership with Sinepe-PE (Union of Educational Institutions in the State of Pernambuco). Aimed at educators, administrators, government representatives, and leaders of educational institutions, the event offers a dynamic program featuring discussions on the future of basic education in both the public and private sectors.

This year’s conference has as its central theme “A New Way of Learning to Build Regenerative Futures” and is organized around four main themes: Coexistence, Awareness, Care, and Creation. This edition invites a deep reflection on how schools can reinvent themselves in the face of contemporary challenges, seeking more humane, creative, and inclusive teaching practices. The exhibition area is another highlight of the event, featuring more than 40 brands offering solutions, products, and innovations tailored to the education sector, creating opportunities for networking and new business with educational institutions in the Northeast region. 

One of the new features of this edition is the Public Education Auditorium, which offers free admission to visitors and focuses on pressing issues facing public school systems. Among the highlights is the panel discussion “Has Public Education Already Missed the AI Boat?”, on August 28 at 3:00 p.m., featuring TDS Chief Scientist Silvio Meira; Luciano Meira, Head of Pedagogy at Proz, Associate Professor at UFPE, and a faculty member in the graduate program at Cesar School; and Tanci Simões, educational consultant at Cesar School.

Another highlight of the event will be the discussion “Technology for All: Infrastructure and Equity in Schools, ” on August 27 at 3:00 p.m., featuring Delson Silva, Director of Technology and Innovation at the National Fund for Education Development (FNDE), and Leo Gmeiner, co-founder and CBO of School Guardian, who will address the challenge of bringing connectivity for educational purposes to all schools across the country.

Inspiring talks that bring about transformation

As part of the lineup of inspiring talks, Spanish educator Xavier Aragay, president of Reimagine Education, poses the thought-provoking question: “Are we prepared to lead the educational transformation that lies ahead?” on August 27 at 5:00 p.m., opening the floor for a discussion of strategies and experiences that are already shaping the future of education in various countries.

Inclusion activist Raquel Camara Cabral, who has more than 880,000 followers on Instagram, will share her experiences as a non-traditional mother in her talk titled “There’s Room for Everyone in the World” on August 28 at 4:00 p.m., highlighting the importance of listening, empathy, and creating truly inclusive spaces in schools.

Aquarium Auditorium and Plenary Hall

With a more collaborative format, the Aquário auditorium invites the audience to interact directly with experts. Among the topics to be discussed is the practical and mindful use of artificial intelligence in schools, featuring sociologist, researcher, and education and technology expert Daniel Magnavita, and educational consultant on active learning methodologies and artificial intelligence Fernando Trevisani, on the panel “Implementing AI: What Matters for Schools” on August 28 at 3:00 p.m.

Another highlight is the panel “Creating Is Part of Learning,” on August 28 at 1:30 p.m., which will explore the role of imagination, creativity, and innovation in reinventing the classroom, featuring Cris Sanches, Head of Innovation and Educational Technology at YDUQS, and Manu Bezerra, a teacher and designer of learning program experiences.

Also at the Aquarium, the panel discussion “Co-creating Learning Experiences: Designing Learning Networks in a Post-Industrial Society” will take place on August 27 at 2:30 p.m., featuring Caio Vassão, founding partner of Bootstrap Comunicação e Consultoria, and Carlos Eduardo Freire Gurgel, CEO and founder of FWK Innovation Design .

Another highlight is the session“Do We Want Agency or Obedience? Rethinking Relationships at School,” featuring Vanessa Tenório, CEO of Systemic Bilingual, and Lucyana Beltrão, educational supervisor at Vila Aprendiz School, on August 27 at 4:00 p.m.

At the Plenary Session, the agenda features key topics for education today and in the future. In the panel “Educating for Complexity, ” Carla Alexandre, Educational Projects Coordinator at Cesar School, and Iran Pontes, professor and manager of the Design Culture portal, will discuss how to prepare students for a technological and ethical world where creativity and critical thinking are indispensable, on August 28 at 12:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, the panel discussion “21st-Century Skills: Is the School System Falling Behind?”, featuring Ana Paula Manzalli, Director of Operations and Innovation at Sincroniza Educação, and Tiago Bossi, Executive Director of Multitude Sistema de Ensino, will prompt reflection on the urgency of updating school curricula on August 27 at 12:00 p.m.

Interpersonal interaction as the foundation of learning will be addressed in two sessions: during the panel discussion “Conscious Interpersonal Interaction: Building a School of Healthy Relationships, ”on August 27 at 3:00 p.m., featuring MindKids founder Daniela Degani and language teacher Rossana Fonseca. And in the discussion “Why Is Social Interaction at the Heart of Learning?”, featuring psychologist André Daconti Menezes and philosopher Márcio Krauss, on August 28 at 11:00 a.m.

Also on the program is the panel discussion “Beyond the Hype: What Can AI (Actually) Do for Education?”, featuring Maria Xavier, Academic Director at Fluencypass, and Daniela Lyra, an instructional design specialist at Casa Thomas Jefferson. The discussion will focus on the realistic and effective use of artificial intelligence in the teaching-and-learning process and will take place on August 28 at 2:00 p.m.

To attend the Bett Nordeste Conference, there are two types of tickets available: the “conference attendee” ticket, which provides access to all content auditoriums and the exhibition area for one or two days; and the “visitor” pass, which provides access to the lectures in the Public Education auditorium, as well as the exhibition area, during both days of the event. The Bett Conference will be held on August 27 and 28 at the Recife Expo Center in Recife, Pernambuco.
