Minister of Education Attends the Bett Brasil 2022 Fair
Education Minister Victor Godoy attended the opening of the 27th edition of the Bett Brasil fair on Tuesday (the 10th). The event, which runs through this Friday, the 13th, in São Paulo (SP), is considered the largest gathering focused on education, technology, and innovation in Latin America.
More than 270 exhibiting brands are participating in the trade show, and more than 260 speakers who are leading figures in the education sector are taking part in the Bett Brasil Congress and the Administrators’ Forum. The organizers expect to welcome more than 30,000 visitors over the four-day event.
The Ministry of Education (MEC) will be present at the fair with a dedicated booth where representatives from the ministry’s departments will showcase products, services, and innovative solutions. In addition, technical teams will give presentations during the event.
During the fair’s opening ceremony, Minister Victor Godoy stated that this is an important moment to demonstrate that the Ministry of Education is open to innovation and the use of technology, particularly for catching up on learning in the post-pandemic era.
“The Ministry of Education (MEC) has a dedicated space at the fair to showcase products and services that are being developed specifically at this time, when in-person classes are actually taking place. These are educational tools that will assist the entire national education system in catching up on learning. The Ministry of Education is open to collaborating closely with states, municipalities, and national and international organizations,” emphasized the minister, who took the opportunity to detail initiatives currently underway at the Ministry to strengthen education.
According to Victor Godoy, last year alone, more than R$ 350 million was invested to ensure connectivity in schools. In addition, the Minister of Education highlighted the ministry’s partnership with the World Bank, particularly in the North and Northeast regions of the country, with a focus on reducing inequalities in education.
Representing the National Council of Education Secretaries (Consed), the Federal District’s Secretary of Education, Hélvia Paranaguá, also attended the fair’s opening ceremony and congratulated the Ministry of Education (MEC) on the projects it has developed across the country. “I want to thank the team at the Ministry of Education for the connectivity and technology initiatives they have been implementing. The MEC’s efforts are focused on equity, with a particular emphasis on the Brazilian regions that need it most during this post-pandemic period,” she emphasized.
Claudia Valério, CEO of Bett Brasil, explained the purpose of the fair: “Technology and innovation are at the heart of Bett. Our goal is to bring together the various links in the educational chain by presenting educational solutions that foster interaction and engagement—especially through the exchange of experiences and best practices—as well as to facilitate networking, so that education can flourish and develop more effectively each year.”
Jânio Macedo, Sebrae’s manager of entrepreneurial education; Luiz Miguel Garciada, president of the National Union of Municipal Education Directors (UNDIME); Amábile Pacios, vice president of the National Federation of Private Schools (FENEP); and Cláudia Valério, director of Bett Brasil, along with officials and secretaries from the Ministry of Education, attended the event’s opening ceremony.
