One of the highlights of the 31st edition of Bett Brasil is the launch of the AI in Education Summit, an initiative that places artificial intelligence at the center of educational discussions. With two full days dedicated to the topic—May 5 and 6—the event aims to deepen the debate on the impacts, challenges, and opportunities of AI in educational institutions.

Co-curated by Bett Brasil and the educational AI platform AI4School—a platform by Conexia Educação—the Summit will feature an exclusive auditorium for 500 participants and will host national and international experts.

“Artificial intelligence is already part of school life, but not yet in a structured and safe way. Our role is to responsibly bring this conversation to the center of the educational debate. It’s not just about using AI, but about raising a generation capable of understanding it, questioning it, and using it ethically, consciously, and purposefully. The Summit was created precisely to broaden this dialogue and help schools navigate this new reality with confidence and a proactive approach,” says Sandro Bonás, CEO of Conexia Educação.

Along the same lines, Adriana Martinelli, Director of Content at Bett Brasil, emphasizes the importance of making the topic more accessible and applicable to the day-to-day operations of educational institutions. “Artificial intelligence is already established as a strategic tool in education, and making this conversation clearer, more achievable, and down-to-earth is one of our goals. “This is a time for experimentation, so it’s important to learn from these new challenges and reflect on what can be done as a result,” she says.

Aimed at educators, administrators, and leaders of public and private institutions, the AI Summit seeks to engage directly with those who are at the forefront of pedagogical and strategic decisions related to the adoption of artificial intelligence. Schedule

The program will be organized around two central themes. On the first day, the focus will be on“AI and the New Landscape of Education,” and on the second day, on “Strategies, Practices, and Possible Futures.”

Among the highlights is the panel “Beyond Artificial Intelligence: The Rebirth of the School,” featuring Gil Giardelli, founder of 5ERA. The goal is to discuss the so-called post-AI era, in which technologies such as Physical AI and humanoids are beginning to occupy new spaces in society, requiring an education system capable of preparing individuals to be critical thinkers, ethical, and ready to deal with profound transformations.

In the panel discussion titled “Who Makes Decisions in the Age of AI? Pedagogical Sovereignty, Ethics, and the Human Role in Education,” the debate will center on AI biases, the ethical limits of technology, and the risks of excessive automation, with a focus on the importance of preserving teacher autonomy in the teaching-and-learning process.

This session will bring together Guilherme Cintra, Director of Innovation and Technology at the Lemann Foundation; Gi Santos, a researcher and innovation manager; andAmerico Amorim, who holds a Ph.D. in Education from Johns Hopkins University and is an affiliated researcher at New York University.

The program also includes the panel discussion “Schools in the Age of AI: Governance, Pedagogy, and Literacy,” featuringMariana Ochs, education coordinator at Instituto Palavra Aberta;Sandro Bonás, CEO of Conexia; and Paulo Silveira, co-founder of Alura.

The panelists will address artificial intelligence literacy as a cornerstone of new educational practices and discuss its impact on curriculum, assessment, learning methodologies, and school management.

The panel “Innovation with a Purpose: Rights at the Heart of AI Design and Governance in Education” features Alessandra Borelli, an attorney specializing in digital law, data protection, and artificial intelligence, and Rodrigo Nejm, a digital education specialist at the Alana Institute, who will discuss the challenges of compliance, security, privacy, and accountability in the use, adoption, and design of digital technologies in education.
