New Bett Educar Online Event

The post-pandemic landscape is beginning to take shape around the world. At this time, the Brazilian education sector’s goal is to establish strategies for the safe reopening of schools for in-person activities. Bett Educar, aware of its role as a unifying force during these unusual times, will provide a new forum for discussions on the return of students and teachers to schools across the country.

On June 23 and 24, Bett Educar will host a new online event featuring analyses of the challenges ahead and discussions on recommendations for the return to school. The online presentations will feature eight renowned education professionals and will be moderated by Maria Alice Carraturi, Bett Educar’s Director of Content.

The event begins at 3:00 p.m. Registration is completely free, and a certificate of participation will be issued. Among the highlights are the international protocols for returning to school, which will be presented by Maria João Horta, Deputy Director-General for Education at the Portuguese Ministry of Education (ME), and Jarkko Wickström, Director of Operations for Brazil and Latin America at Finland University.

We will get a glimpse of the preparations for the resumption of classes in the private school system through presentations by Valdenice Minatel, Director General of Education at Colégio Dante Alighieri, and Roberta Guedes, manager of the Chamber of Basic Education (Anec). Meanwhile, the plans for the public school system will be presented by Haroldo Corrêa Rocha, Executive Secretary of Education for the State of São Paulo, and Cláudia Costin, Director-General of the Center for Excellence and Innovation in Educational Policy at FGV/Rio de Janeiro, former Director of Education at the World Bank, and member of the Global Education Council at Betta.

Other topics relevant to preparing for a gradual return to school—while taking into account the health status of each region—will address the welcome back of teachers and students and the recognition of teachers. These topics will be presented by psychologist Rossandro Klinjey and Leo Fraiman, the creators of the OPEE methodology, who will offer important tips for the return to school.

Information about the virtual event can be found in the calendar under "New Online Meeting" on the Bett Educar website (https://www.bettbrasileducar.com.br/encontroonline)
