The future of the Education and Research sector lies in the cloud
Cloud computing is more than just applications or a way to store data. It is a journey of digital transformation with virtually unlimited resources, but one that still raises many questions and presents challenges for managers

While just a few years ago IT managers were debating when to migrate to the cloud, today that issue is a thing of the past. Cloud computing is a one-way street, and therefore the biggest challenge is finding the shortest, most efficient, and most cost-effective way to complete this journey. It’s a complex discussion that involves deciding what to migrate, how to do it, and how to balance increasingly tight budgets with ever-growing demands.

NasNuvens was created to help Brazilian public and private educational and research institutions transition securely and efficiently to this new operational model. More than just a solutions portal, NasNuvens combines consulting, management, solutions procurement, and infrastructure in a model designed entirely for the sector. Created by the National Research Network (RNP) in partnership with CAPES, NasNuvens draws on the extensive experience of the organization that brought the Internet to Brazil while also bringing together the most innovative developers to offer a comprehensive portfolio of solutions.

Impressive figures and a focus on knowledge development

More than 100 Brazilian institutions have already been served by NasNuvens. Through close partnerships with leading global providers such as Google, Microsoft, and Moodle, NasNuvens offers unique commercial terms, with cost savings that have reached as high as 80% compared to market prices. As a result, more than 630,000 students are connected through its distance learning solutions. Each day, there are more than 25,000 simultaneous logins on one of its learning platforms. And upon completing their college degrees, more than 90,000 students from Brazil’s 65 largest institutions of higher education have received their NasNuvens Digital Diploma, which was created in partnership with the Ministry of Education (MEC) in full compliance with established standards. This is in addition to solutions tailored for the healthcare sector and those that support the management of institutions in general.

But since technology doesn’t work without knowledge, NasNuvens offers courses and workshops to serve as a Knowledge Hub, enabling solutions to be fully leveraged. Since 2021, more than 900 managers and IT professionals from public and private institutions have participated in these events. By bringing together all the pieces of this complex ecosystem, NasNuvens works to ensure that managers have greater clarity and confidence that the path to the cloud will bring cost savings, ease of use, and significant benefits for everyone.
