The Transformative Educator Award Opens Registration for Teachers Nationwide
Initiative Aims to Recognize Transformative Projects Focused on Entrepreneurship Education

Registration is now open for the Transformative Educator Award, which aimsto recognize transformative educational projects focused on entrepreneurship education and developed by Brazilian teachers at public or private educational institutions across the country. The initiative is organized by Sebrae, in partnership with Bett Brasil and the Significare Institute.

The Transformative Educator Award was created through a partnership between Sebrae’s Entrepreneurial Education Award and the Transformative Teacher Award organized by Bett Brasil and the Significare Institute. “We noticed many similarities between the awards and decided to join forces to create the largest entrepreneurial education award in the country, making it a benchmark for Brazil,” says Adriana Martinelli, Director of Content at Bett Brasil.

According to Elaine Novetti, an Entrepreneurial Education analyst at Sebrae Nacional, a transformative educational project is one that, by developing entrepreneurial skills in students, enables the transformation of knowledge and experience into value for students, schools, and the community. “We want to recognize and value the work of Brazilian teachers—from both public and private schools—who have implemented transformative educational projects. It is understood that ‘transformative’ refers to the act of entrepreneurship within the school,” she emphasized.

As Professor Wellington Cruz, president of the Significare Institute, explains, the Transformative Educator Award provides an important national platform for teachers who believe in transformative education and who, through their projects, help students develop entrepreneurial skills aligned with sustainable development. “If we truly want a more prosperous and just country, we need to involve our students today in building this better and more sustainable future,” he emphasizes.

"The Award is fully aligned with the urgent need to promote dialogue about transformative and innovative education—education that prepares students for the workforce, for entrepreneurship, and for the future—and that must evolve to become even more equitable and of higher quality for all," emphasizes Martinelli.

To register for free, simply visit the awards website here. The selected projects are scheduled to be announced on April 24, 2023, and the winners will be honored at a ceremony to be held during the Bett Brasil event, May 9–12, 2023, in São Paulo.
