The Transformative Educator Award Receives More Than 3,000 Entries from Teachers Across the Country
The Transformative Educator Award, a joint initiative of Sebrae, Bett Brasil, and the Significare Institute, closed the registration period for its second edition with a total of 3,460 projects submitted by teachers from across the country. This number represents an increase over the previous edition, which received approximately 3,000 entries.
At the state level, the award will select the most transformative projects from each state and the Federal District, divided into seven categories: Early Childhood Education, Elementary School—early grades, Elementary School—later grades, High School, Vocational Education, Youth and Adult Education (EJA), and Higher Education.
The distribution of projects by region has become more equitable with each passing year. In this edition of the Transformative Educator Award, 28.4% of the entries came from educators in the Southeast; 23.9% from the Northeast; 21.9% from the South; 15.2% from the Midwest; and 10.6% from the North.
As for educational levels, most of the projects submitted for the award are from educators in the Final Years of Elementary School (26.3% of the total), followed by: High School (24.4%), Elementary School — Early Years (22.3%), Early Childhood Education (9.4%), Vocational Education (8%), Higher Education (5.2%), and Youth and Adult Education (EJA), accounting for 4.2% of the entries.
After the application period closes, the nearly 3,500 projects submitted will be evaluated by a review panel composed of master’s and doctoral degree holders who work in teacher education.
The complete list of state winners will be posted on March 25, 2024, on the Award’s website. The regional winning projects will be announced on April 5. The national winners will be announced on April 24 at Bett Brasil 2024, during an open event that will feature the regional winning teachers from the country’s five regions, in each of the categories.
Bett Brasil is the largest event dedicated to innovation and technology in education in Latin America and will take place April 23–26 at Expo Center Norte in São Paulo (SP). Admission is free. To attend, register here.
