From May 6 to 8, 2026, Undime hosted the Expanded Governing Board Meeting at Bett Brasil 2026, held at Expo Center Norte in São Paulo, São Paulo State.

The meeting brought together the national executive board, as well as the presidents and vice presidents of the regional chapters from all Brazilian states, strengthening institutional dialogue for the 2025–2027 biennium. Institutional coordinators from the regional chapters also participated, fostering the exchange of experiences and the organization’s strategic alignment.

The agenda included sessions on institutional evaluation, information about the11th Extraordinary National Forum of Municipal Education Directors—to be held May 24–27 in Brasília, Federal District—as well as general announcements.

In addition, the leaders participated in training activities, such as a lecture on management and leadership given by Professor Júlio Furtado, and group exercises focused on institutional strengthening—conducted in partnership with Sebrae—led by Professor Manu Bezerra.

The Undime agenda also included cultural activities for institutional coordinators, such as a guided tour of the Pinacoteca de São Paulo, underscoring the importance of a well-rounded education and cultural appreciation in educational development.

For Luiz Miguel Martins Garcia, Undime’s national president and Municipal Director of Education for Nova Odessa, São Paulo, the meeting reaffirms the institution’s commitment to strengthening public education through coordination among administrators, professional development, and ongoing monitoring of key educational trends. Luiz also highlighted the importance of the work carried out in partnership with Sebrae.

"The meeting provided an important forum for training, reflection, and discussion for leaders from across the country, including chapter presidents, vice presidents, and coordinators from our chapters. We discussed planning and management tools based on methodologies and evidence that help us gather information, explore alternatives, and critically reflect on the challenges facing education," he said.

For Luiz Miguel, this process strengthens the development of citizenship and broadens understanding of entrepreneurship in a comprehensive way, involving administrators, students, and schools.

Ana Paula Papa Miranda, a technical analyst with Sebrae’s Entrepreneurial Education Unit, emphasized that the main objective of the activity was to strengthen the connection between Sebrae and Undime’s regional chapters throughout Brazil.

“We ended the day with a sense of accomplishment and of having achieved our goal. What we saw here was a very significant strengthening of the relationship between the state-level Sebraes and the Undime regional chapters, reflecting the maturation of a partnership built over time that is now beginning to take root in a way that is very important for Brazilian municipal education,” he noted.
