Unfortunately, there are many vendors who collect data from Hyve Group event websites and contact exhibitors, presenting themselves as official vendors of the company. These include companies that sell recruitment services, databases, audio and video services, booth builders, graphic design services, etc.
These companies often use a deceptive form—which resembles an organizer’s “Free Catalog Listing Service”—inviting exhibitors to sign and return the form to be listed in an online directory. By doing so, the buyer commits to a non-cancellable three-year contract, and failure to pay is followed by aggressive debt collection by Recuperação de Prêmios.
None of these companies is an official supplier for any event organized by Hyve Group PLC. If any of these companies contacts you and claims to be a third-party contractor for any of our events, we suggest that you do not continue the conversation and that you contact us immediately to report the contact.
The event organizers' association advises IGNORING THEM COMPLETELY and not communicating with them in any way. Writing letters simply confirms that you exist and are reachable at the email address they have, and therefore payment can be made.
If you fall victim to this scam:
- Relate it to your local business standards;
- DON'T PAY ANYTHING;
- DO NOT COMMUNICATE WITH SCAMMERS, even if they threaten legal action;
- Optional: File a complaint with the receiving bank stating that your customer is receiving money in error.
These organizations are also known to use debt collection agencies; the same advice applies to these agencies.
