Aldo Fernandes de Sousa Neto is an attorney and public administrator who currently serves as Municipal Secretary of Education in Natal. With a proven track record in public administration, he has held strategic positions such as Secretary of Planning in Mossoró, Deputy Secretary of Education, and Secretary of Administration in Natal, gaining experience in the areas of management, planning, and public policy.

As head of education in the capital of Rio Grande do Norte, he has led a results-oriented administration focused on learning, equity, and expanding access. Under his leadership, the municipality has made progress in ensuring children learn to read and write at the appropriate age, expanded the availability of full-time education, strengthened Youth and Adult Education (EJA), and eliminated the waiting list for spots in daycare centers and preschools.

A master’s student in Public Policy, he also serves at the national level as an advisor to UNDIME, contributing to the strengthening of public education in Brazil. An advocate for treating education as a matter of state policy, he bases his work on a student-centered approach, the recognition of education professionals, and the use of evidence-based decision-making.

His administration is characterized by a commitment to inclusive, equitable, and high-quality education, establishing Natal as a model for educational development.
