André Palhano is a journalist who has worked at various news organizations, including Agência Estado, Veja, Folha de S. Paulo, and Rádio Jovem Pan, serving as a reporter, special correspondent, editor, and columnist. He founded and coordinates Virada Sustentável, a festival promoting education for sustainability that involves the coordination and direct participation of civil society organizations, cultural groups, public agencies, universities, and schools, held in various Brazilian cities. 
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Amazon Sustainable Foundation (FAS), as well as the boards of UMAPAZ (São Paulo City Hall), Cidade Escola Aprendiz, the Brazilian Association of Professionals for Sustainable Development (Abraps), and the Rede de Repensadores. He is a co-founder of the Agora Movement and a member of the first class of RAPS Leaders (Network for Political Action for Sustainability). 
He has received the Sustainable Citizen Award, sponsored by CBN Radio, Catraca Livre, and Rede Nossa São Paulo, in the Environment category; the Educator-Inventor Award, sponsored by UNESCO and Projeto Aprendiz; the Pintou Limpeza Award (Eldorado Radio and Estadão); and the World Environment Forum (LIDE) Award. 
He has served as a moderator and speaker at dozens of events in Brazil and abroad, including: the World Water Forum, the Sustainable Development Goals Action Awards (SDG Awards), Sustainable Brands (SB), SEBRAE’s International Sustainability Congress, the Global Compact Forum, and the C40 São Paulo Summit, among others.
