Guilherme Cintra
Director of Innovation and Technology at the Lemann Foundation
Guilherme Cintra is the Director of Innovation and Technology at the Lemann Foundation. He holds a degree in economics from PUC-RJ and began working in education at age 18, teaching math to young people in communities near his university. He developed a passion for the field, and after interning at other investment funds, he joined Gera, which at the time was 100% focused on education. He would go on to become a partner in the fund. After the creation of Eleva Educação, he took over as principal of one of the group’s schools. He later managed a network of Eleva schools. He was a co-founder and chief strategy officer of Patio, the New Business division of Eleva Educação (now Grupo Salta). He worked as Innovation and Technology Coordinator at the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Department of Education, where he led the creation of the Experimental Technology High Schools, the Rio de Janeiro Math Olympiad, and the development of software for tracking attendance, teacher allocation, and infrastructure management, in addition to initiatives to increase connectivity in the city’s schools. Today, he seeks to use technology to scale educational quality to different states and municipalities across the country.
