Josevanda Mendonça Franco is a teacher, historian, writer, and specialist in education and human rights. A native of Itabaiana, Sergipe, her career has been marked by a commitment to public education and the defense of social rights. She has held leadership positions at various institutions, including serving as president of Undime Sergipe and, currently, of Undime Nordeste. She also served as Municipal Secretary of Education in Aracaju and Nossa Senhora do Socorro, as well as State Education Advisor for Sergipe. She served as a coordinator for the UNICEF Seal and was a member of national commissions focused on education and children’s rights. Her career is equally distinguished by her prolific intellectual and cultural output. The author of more than 25 publications—including books, studies, and institutional protocols—Josevanda has also curated major cultural exhibitions in Sergipe. In addition to teaching in both K-12 and higher education, she has provided educational and social consulting services at the national level. As a member of the Itabaianense Academy of Letters, she keeps the memory and cultural identity of her homeland alive, combining education, art, and social commitment in her work.
