Luciano Meira holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of California, Berkeley, a master's degree in Cognitive Psychology, and a bachelor's degree in Education.

He serves as Lead Researcher in AI and Education at CESAR School, Associate Professor of Psychology at the Federal University of Pernambuco, and Adjunct Professor at the Center for Public Policy Studies at UNICAMP.

Luciano is also a Lemann Fellow at Stanford University, a full member of the Todos pela Educação movement, a member of the advisory boards of Porvir and GEDUC, and a trustee of NERD/Porto Digital.

He is the author of more than 200 articles in scientific journals, books, and opinion pieces; has supervised approximately 100 doctoral theses and master’s dissertations; and is the co-editor of several works on learning, including “Playfulness, Digital Games, and Gamification in Learning” with Paulo Blikstein.
