Raquel Camara Cabral
An unconventional mother who is active in the cause of inclusion,
There’s Room for Everyone in the World
Raquel Cabral, an architect and urban planner by training, is the mother of Bernardo and Marcello, the stepmother of Maria Alice, and the wife of Achilles. An advocate for inclusion, she runs an Instagram account alongside her son Marcello, which has over 880,000 followers. Through this platform, she seeks to demystify issues related to people with disabilities, as well as to support countless families who have received the same diagnosis as her son, who has Down syndrome. Her goal is to teach that, first and foremost, the person comes before the disability, showing that, with opportunities, everyone can achieve what they desire. All of this is done in a lighthearted, accessible, and joyful way. Through her dedication, she has become a leading voice in the debate on inclusion, standing out in the fight for a more inclusive society free from ableism. Her work reinforces the message that “there’s room for everyone in the world,” inspiring meaningful change and promoting the celebration of diversity.
