Regina Novaes holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and a master’s degree in Social Anthropology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She earned her Ph.D. in the Humanities (Social Anthropology) from the University of São Paulo (USP). She has taught at PUC-RJ, the Federal University of Paraíba, and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IFCS/UFRJ). Throughout her academic career, she has supervised undergraduate research projects, master’s theses, and doctoral dissertations. She has published articles and books on Youth, Culture, Religion, and Politics. These are also her areas of research and consulting for governmental and nongovernmental organizations. She is currently a senior researcher at CNPq, academic coordinator of the Institute for the Study of Religion (ISER), and Visiting Professor Emerita in the Graduate Program in Education at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO), where she is affiliated with the “Youth and Public Policy” research area.
