Romero Tori is a Level 3 Associate Professor at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (USP), where he coordinates Interlab (Laboratory of Interactive Technologies) and conducts research on the use of technologies in education, particularly immersive technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and metaverses.

Tenured faculty member in the Graduate Program in Design at FAU/USP and in the distance learning graduate program in Computing Applied to Education at ICMC/USP.

Member of the Bett Brasil Board, on the higher education committee.

Chair of the Scientific Council of the Brazilian Association for Distance Education (ABED) and of the Technical-Scientific Committee of the ABED International Congress on Distance Education (CIAED).

Chair for Latin America of the Immersive Learning Research Network (iLRN).

Reviewer for international journals, including IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies, IEEE Access, IEEE VR, Computers and Education, Multimedia Tools and Applications, Biomed Research International, and Computers in Human Behavior.

Recipient of a CNPq Productivity Fellowship in Technological Development and Innovative Extension, in the field of Educational Technologies.

Author of the book “Educação sem Distância” (Education Without Distance).
