Educating for Social Interaction: The Challenges of Intra- and Interpersonal Intelligence in an Era of New Forms of Intelligence
May 8, 2026
Plenary Session
Basic Education
Teaching students to live together harmoniously is one of the greatest challenges of contemporary education. Today’s world demands that we revisit the essential themes that shape human nature. Knowing how to listen, knowing how to speak, knowing how to respect others’ space and time. Knowing how to recognize the pauses necessary for thoughtful reflection. The theoretical framework includes a brief historical overview of philosophy and pedagogy, as well as contemporary contributions from social psychology. Issues that cause pain—such as depression, stress, and anxiety—in children and adolescents demonstrate just how urgent the topic of social interaction has become.
