DOES TODAY'S EDUCATION PREPARE US FOR THE FUTURE?
Bett Educar 2020, which will take place May 12–15 at the Transamérica Expo Center in São Paulo, has already set the main theme that will guide the conference’s focus areas and overarching themes. As determined by the Advisory Board, the 27th edition of Latin America’s largest event on education, technology, and innovation will center on the following question: “Does today’s education prepare us for the future?”
“There is a debate over whether educational institutions are preparing future generations for the society of the future and whether the future can be predicted. Bett Educar is a rich forum for discussions, essays, and proposals. And that is exactly what we hope to spark by choosing this theme,” explains Maria Alice Carraturi, director of content at Bett Educar.
The Advisory Board helped define the program for the Bett Educar 2020 Conference, including its themes, overarching topics, and keynote speakers. The schedule of presentations was organized around 24 core topics, grounded in four guiding themes: Management, Teacher Training, Technology, and Public Policy.
The 24 macro-themes of the Bett Educar 2020 Conference cover the key issues shaping Brazilian and global education, such as innovative educational management, the future of early childhood education, curriculum and educational technology, teacher training, inclusion and assistive technologies, high school education and the new job market, vocational education, entrepreneurial education, artificial intelligence in education, analytics and assessment, among others.
The lectures will be held in six auditoriums over the course of the four-day event. The list of speakers includes renowned educators and experts, such as Miguel Thompson (Santillana Foundation); Emília Cipriano (professor at PUC-SP); Ilona Becskeházy (Ph.D. in Education, USP); José Moran (professor at USP); Renato Casagrande (Alleanza Brasil Educação); Rogério Teixeira (Paula Souza Center); André Stábile (Movement for the National Common Core Curriculum); and secretaries of education, among others. Managers' Forum
At the 2020 edition, the Bett Educar Administrators’ Forum will address strategic issues facing Brazilian education, such as political, economic, and financial aspects; the regulatory framework; and other legal matters, as well as the digital transformation of educational institutions.
What's New
Once again, Bett Educar is expanding its event and launching Bett IES, the Higher Education Institutions Conference, in 2020. This new space will feature exclusive content and experiences designed to broaden horizons for the higher education market, fostering discussion on management efficiency, the quality of education provided, alignment with the job market, improvements in student performance, technology as an ally in management and innovation in higher education, hybrid learning platforms, and new models in distance education. In addition, Bett IES will feature an exhibition area dedicated to suppliers of products and solutions for higher education.
Through Bett IES, the event organizers aim to foster dialogue with the K-12 education sector, facilitating the exchange of content and exhibits dedicated to both levels of education, thereby expanding business opportunities, the sharing of experiences, and innovation across all sectors of public and private education.
The official schedules for Bett IES and the Administrators' Forum are still being finalized with the help of the Advisory Board.
Bett Startups
For the second consecutive year, Future Education—a leader in digital transformation applied to education—will serve as the curator of Bett Startups. The goal is to showcase technological trends, new content on innovation, and educational methodologies tailored to K-12, higher education, and corporate training. For each of these three areas, Bett Startups aims to present paths toward the future of education—whether for the younger generations (K–12), the job market (higher education), or the continuing education of those already in the workforce (corporate education).
Ambassador
Rossieli Soares da Silva, Secretary of Education for the State of São Paulo, is the new ambassador for Bett Educar. Rossieli helped guide and organize Bett Educar 2020, proposing themes and curating the content for the Congress, the Administrators’ Forum, and the Higher Education Forum (Bett IES).
