Bett Educar Editorial Team
With social distancing measures in place and in-person classes suspended, Latin America’s largest education and technology event continues to support the educational community through an online event designed to analyze the current situation, present ideas, and discuss new insights

In keeping with its mission to support teachers and school administrators and to contribute to the quality and equity of Brazilian education, Bett Educar will host a free online event on May 12, 13, and 14—the dates originally scheduled for its traditional in-person event, Bett Educar 2020, which has been temporarily postponed as a preventive measure against COVID-19. The virtual event will be streamed on Bett Educar ’s digital channels : YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.

Bett Educar – Online Conference will bring together 20 renowned professionals from the education sector for nine presentations, moderated by Content Director Maria Alice Carraturi. The Online Conference begins on May 12 at 2:30 p.m. with the official opening remarks by Bett Educar Director Claudia Valério and São Paulo State Secretary of Education and Bett Educar Ambassador Rossieli Soares.

The goal of Bett Educar – Online Meeting is to maintain relationships and provide support to the educational community, offer analysis of this highly unusual situation, present ideas, and discuss experiences and new knowledge gained during the period of social isolation, as well as the challenges institutions face in addressing this issue.

The virtual event will address key issues related to the current situation. The speakers will share their reflections on the post-pandemic era, discussing topics such as: the measures implemented by public authorities to ensure the continuity of school activities; teacher training; ensuring learning during and after the pandemic; how to transform an educational institution into an EdTech company; and what to do about the calendar and the 2020 school year, among other topics.

The OEI (Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science, and Culture) will present the analytical report “How Might Schools Be Affected by the Crisis Caused by the Novel Coronavirus?,” which was conducted in 23 countries.

“At this unusual time, we believe that the shared knowledge and diverse perspectives that will be presented can inspire and support Brazilian educators in their work,” explained Claudia Valério, director of Bett Educar.

According to the content director at Bett Educar, “This is a new reality that emerged very suddenly and presented educational institutions with a major challenge: keeping learning going. However, we are learning a lot, and the future may look different from what we’ve been doing,” says Maria Alice Carraturi.

By hosting this online event, Bett Educar is staying true to its core mission: to contribute to the improvement and equity of Brazilian education.
