Bett Educar is hosting an online event to discuss the current state and future of Brazilian higher education
According to a report recently presented by the UN, based on projections by UNESCO, 24 million students may have to interrupt their studies in 2020 as a result of school closures caused by COVID-19. Higher education is experiencing high dropout rates and a 3.5% decline in enrollment, resulting in a loss of 7.9 million students. The data for higher education this year and for the future are very concerning—just as they are for basic education.
To discuss the impacts of the pandemic, the challenges that have been overcome, and the outlook for the future, Bett Educar is hosting an exclusive event: the Online Higher Education Summit, on September 9 (Wednesday), from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Through a virtual discussion platform, the event aims to present solutions, new ideas, trends, and innovations, while maintaining connections with the various stakeholders in the Brazilian education system during this time of great challenge—including for institutions of higher education (IES). Registration for Bett Educar’s Online Higher Education Summit is free.
The Higher Education Online Conference will address important topics for the sector, such as Higher Education Management in the Post-Pandemic Era, featuring Celso Niskier, CEO of ABMES (Brazilian Association of Higher Education Institutions) and Elizabeth Guedes, President of the National Association of Private Universities (ANUP); “The Future of Higher Education,” featuring Américo Mattar, CEO of the Telefônica Foundation, and José Moran, Professor and Designer of Transformative Projects in Education at USP-SP, and concludes with the topic “Innovation and Enabling Technologies for Digital Transformation in Higher Education,” featuring Luciano Meira, Professor at UFPE/Cesar School and co-founder of Joy Street; Patricia Fumagalli, VP of Digital Transformation at Ânima Educação; and Domingos Machado, President of the Tiradentes Innovation Center and Director of Strategy and Innovation at the Tiradentes Group.
“For years, Bett Educar has promoted discussions focused on higher education at its in-person events and continues to foster the same connection and support for the sector through its online events. The Higher Education Online Conference will feature exclusive content and experiences that help broaden horizons, inspire new practices, and foster discussion on management efficiency, microcertifications, the use of new technologies, and innovative practices,” explains Maria Alice Carraturi, content director at Bett Educar.
