The Bett Nordeste Conference Features a Discussion on Brazilian Basic Education
There's only one month left until the Bett Northeast Conference which will be held in Olinda (PE) on September 27 and 28, in the Pernambuco Convention Center. The traveling event is organized by Bett Brasil, recognized as the organizer of the largest event on Innovation and Technology in Education in Latin America.
The conference will feature more than 15 hours of content across two simultaneous stages in different formats: “Roundtable Discussions,” moderated by journalists specializing in education, and “Aquarium,” which encourages direct interaction with the audience. The central theme of the event is “Focus on Basic Education: Transformative Dialogues, ” which aims to engage with the audience—comprising educators, administrators, school operators, and educational leaders in basic education from both the private and public sectors in the Northeast region.
The event will feature more than 30 guest speakers, officials, experts, and educators. The event’s opening panel will feature the Secretary of Education and Sports for the State of Pernambuco, Ivaneide de Farias Dantas; the president of the Pernambuco Union of Educational Institutions (SINEPE-PE), José Ricardo Diniz; and the president of the Tiradentes Innovation Center, Domingos Sávio Alcântara Machado.
As part of the program for the two-day event, one of the featured topics will be the development of social-emotional skills. Telma Pantano, a speech-language pathologist and educational psychologist at the Institute of Psychiatry at FMUSP’s Hospital das Clínicas, and Antonio Landulfo, CEO of Colégio Sêneca and Director of Intelligence and Pedagogy at CloeEdu, will present the panel “How to integrate social-emotional competencies as a comprehensive and cross-cutting approach that transcends the boundaries of the classroom and becomes a pillar.”
Another key topic will be the New High School Curriculum. The model approved two years ago underwent a public consultation process that was concluded this month by the Ministry of Education (MEC) and has undergone some recent changes, such as an increase in the required number of hours to 2,400 hours of mandatory instruction. The panel “Challenges and Prospects for the Implementation of the New High School System” will be led by Hélio Daher, Secretary of State for Education of Mato Grosso do Sul, and Rafael Herdy, a teacher in the Pará State Public School System .
With a greater focus on management practices, the Bett Nordeste Conference welcomes Alessandra Borelli, partner and CEO of Opice Blum Academy, to speak on “Crisis Management: How to Promote a Safe and Resilient School Environment?” and Carla Alexandre, Educational Projects Coordinator at CESAR School, who will address the topic “Inspiring Leaders in Schools Can Make a Difference.”
Another highlight will be the Bett Lab, a listening and solutions lab for educational institutions. The initiative will provide dedicated mentoring time for administrators and educational leaders to meet with providers of educational solutions. At this year’s conference, the session will feature Carol Stancati, director of Skies Learning, who will address the topic “How can you guide your school’s actions using satisfaction surveys and the NPS as a starting point?”
Also on the agenda for the Bett Nordeste Conference are two inspiring talks. One will be presented by Educa co-founder and ambassador Rossandro Klinjey, who will offer teachers essential insights on strengthening their connection with themselves and the positive impact this has in the classroom, in a talk titled “The Teacher and Internal Dialogues: The Power of Self-Love in Teaching.” The other lecture, titled “How to Connect Ideas and Initiatives to Promote Autonomy?”, will be presented by Davi Braga, an investor and founder of RealDeal Ventures (a business ecosystem).
Among the other topics related to Basic Education that are part of the Bett Nordeste Conference program are issues related to genuinely listening to students in the school environment and promoting a more participatory, engaging, and tailored education; mental health and well-being in education; initiatives to transform teaching practices in schools; lifelong learning; and inclusion and diversity.
In addition to the content program, the Bett Nordeste Conference will also feature an exhibition area for products, services, and technologies. Among the brands that have already confirmed their participation are: SOMOS Educação, Árvore, Skies Learning, isaac, Zoom Education for Life, e-Schooling, MVC Editora, Lanchecard and Desk Móveis Escolares, ViewSonic, Fastrackids, Educação Especial - Lidieri Barros, and TE Capital. The goal is to provide a networking opportunity among solution providers for the education sector and educational institutions, as well as suppliers and qualified buyers with significant decision-making authority.
