On Thursday, May 1, at 11 a.m., PeraBook Editora will present the "Encantadas" Collection, which brings together music and literature for children.

The books were written by illustrator Daniel Kondo and singer-songwriter Carol Naine. As longtime collaborators, they have created 24 books that address topics relevant to the various stages of early childhood education. To do so, they enlisted the help of an educational psychologist and an expert on the National Common Core Curriculum (BNCC).

“We mapped out the stages of child development. All of these stages are covered in the stories through these audiovisual materials,” explains Daniel.

One of the illustrator’s hallmarks is his use of solid colors. “I like the challenge of synthesis,” says the artist. Daniel believes in the potential of working with just a few colors. “It produces more unexpected and complex chromatic results in their combinations,” he reflects.

The illustrations and texts complement each other, as Daniel explains: “We’re talking about very powerful narratives—both textual and visual. When the two come together, we have the Encantadas Collection, which seamlessly blends text, images, and song.”

Songs are a fundamental part of the collection. Each book has a musical version that can be accessed through the Elo Editorial Group app. In addition, the stories come with the song’s sheet music. This way, parents and storytime facilitators can turn storytime into a sing-along with the little ones.

The first book in the series, *Gato Gaiato*, will be released by Grupo Elo Editorial at Bett Brasil 2025. During the event, Daniel and Carol will be on hand to discuss the various possibilities that literature and music offer for early childhood education.
