Created in France and expanded by the European Union, the English Olympics “The Big Challenge” arrived in Brazil in 2023. With the goal of motivating and engaging students through friendly competition, the event is open to students from the 4th grade of elementary school through the 3rd year of high school, rewarding them with certificates of participation and medals at the end of the competition.

The tests are held between late August and the first half of September in a practical and simple manner. It is not necessary to register students in advance, as they sign up on the day of the test. Furthermore, registration is per school and is not dependent on the number of students. That’s right. For a modest fee, all students from 4th grade through 12th grade can participate in this incredible event. In addition, we offer both in-person and virtual formats to meet the needs of all schools. 

To help with preparation, the The Big Challenge PLAY app is available, where participants can practice with more than 20,000 questions on a variety of topics and take practice tests based on exams from previous years. All students at participating schools are entitled to their own practice account.

For schools that want to take English instruction and student engagement to the next level, we also offer a more robust version of The Big Challenge PLAY app: The Academy. There, teachers have access to more classroom resources, grade-level content, even more games, year-round events, and automated homework assignments. It’s all very easy and straightforward. The teacher simply assigns the activity, and all students complete it on their phone, tablet, or computer. After that, the app automatically grades the student’s work and provides the necessary corrections.

The Big Challenge is a year-long experience. It begins on the day of registration, continues throughout the school year, and reaches its peak on test day. Once the results are in, all you have to do is celebrate your students’ hard work with the entire school!
