Bett Brasil 2023 will offer a new experience to conference attendees, visitors, educators, and exhibitors
Dialogue is at the heart of teaching and must also be the primary means of addressing the challenge of transforming education in Brazil. The Bett Brazil, Latin America's largest education and technology event, is holding its 28th edition with the aim of reaffirming this idea by bringing the educational community together from May 9 to 12 at the Transamerica Expo Center in São Paulo.
“This will be the best and largest edition of Bett Brasil yet, with many new features designed to expand networking opportunities and strengthen dialogue and collaboration within our education community, which now has a global reach. This edition will also mark two important launches for Bett Brasil: the Bett Conect@ meeting program and Ahead by Bett, a side event focused on higher education and vocational training. In addition, Bett Startups, a space dedicated to edtech companies, will feature content panels and a schedule of reverse pitches for schools and investors,” says Claudia Valério, director of Bett Brasil.
The exhibition area at the Bett Brasil trade show has been expanded and will host more than 270 brands. Both domestic and international exhibitors will offer activities and experiences for visitors, including demonstrations of innovative products, services, and solutions that are expected to reach classrooms across the country in the coming years. Microsoft is the event’s global sponsor.
According to Claudia Valério, two new initiatives will be launched during the event. Bett Conect@ is a relationship-building and networking program designed to facilitate quick, personalized meetings between managers and decision-makers from educational institutions and providers of technology and solutions for education. Ahead by Bett, on the other hand, will be a parallel event bringing together institutional leaders and educators from across the higher and vocational education sectors, along with solution providers representing this segment.
Another new feature is the Transformative Educator Award, which will be organized through a partnership between Sebrae, the Significare Institute, and Bett Brasil. The goal of the initiative is to recognize transformative educational projects—with a focus on entrepreneurial education—developed by Brazilian teachers at public or private educational institutions across the country. With over 2,000 entries, the winners in the seven categories—Early Childhood Education, Elementary School (early and late grades), High School, Vocational Education, Higher Education, and Youth and Adult Education (EJA)—will be announced during Bett Brasil 2023.
Contents
At this edition of Bett Brasil, the activities on the four-day content agenda will be organized around the main theme “Education and Work for New Futures.” “This theme was chosen in recognition of the need to develop solutions that integrate basic, higher, and vocational education within a pedagogical framework that also incorporates new technologies and innovations. All of this while maintaining a focus on developing individuals capable of navigating the complexities of the contemporary world,” explains Adriana Martinelli, Director of Content at Bett Brasil.
In all, Bett Brasil will feature nine concurrent sessions, divided into the following areas: Bett Brasil Conference (Curriculum, Technology, Assessment, Educator Development, Learning, and Diversity); Ahead by Bett (Employability, Hybrid Learning, Innovation, Initial Training, and the Integration of Continuing Education into the Curriculum); and the Administrators’ Forum.
Among the key topics in the field of education to be discussed are, for example, inclusive, anti-racist, and diverse education; artificial intelligence (ChatGPT) and the metaverse; media literacy and the end of fake news; mental health and social-emotional skills; continuing education and professional development for teachers; data analysis for personalized instruction; bilingual education; full-time schooling; and the reform of the New High School Curriculum. The complete content schedule, including dates, times, topics, and speakers, is available on the event website.

In order to foster greater interaction between the speakers and the Bett Brasil audience, one of the new features for this edition is a new format for the content panels. Four different experiences will be offered in the auditoriums:
- Roundtable Discussion: a discussion centered on various questions posed by the moderator, two experts, and the audience (without the use of other media);
- Participatory Panel: where three seats will be “open” for audience members to participate in the on-stage discussion with two experts, in a round-robin format led by a moderator;
- Panel Discussion: Two experts will each have 15 minutes to present their views on the central topic, followed by 30 minutes of interaction with the audience;
- Inspirational Talks:Special guests wrap up the day with thought-provoking and insightful remarks that encourage reflection on new approaches to education.
Attendees will also be able to interact with the speakers, ask questions, and participate in polls through the official Bett Brasil app.
Another new feature will take place at the Administrators’ Forum, featuring experts who will discuss #WhatDoIDoOnMonday. The idea is to propose an action plan for educators to implement in their schools and educational institutions, based on the experiences and lessons learned during the four days of Bett Brasil 2023. Among the companies in attendance will be Red Balloon, Educbank, and Systemic Bilingual.
