Five days of immersion in educational innovation, combining learning, networking, and field trips to some of the United Kingdom’s most renowned institutions. That was the experience of the Bett UK Delegation, organized by Bett Brasil, which this year tookmore than 200 Brazilians—including municipal and state secretaries, educators, school operators, and representatives from companies in the sector—on a trip to London.

The official itinerary included participation in the Bett Show UK, the world's largest education and technology event, and exclusive visits to British schools and universities, such as Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, Wellington Primary School, Oxford University, Lansbury Lawrence Primary School, Grey Coat Hospital, St. John XXIII Primary School, King's Cross Academy, King's College, and the Open University, among others.

“What’s important about this delegation is not just the visit to the Bett Show UK as a whole, but the opportunity to learn about cutting-edge global education, since the event brings together people from various countries,” says Claudia Valério, general director of Bett Brasil.

She believes that the diversity of this year’s group—which included representatives from elementary school through higher education, as well as public and private school systems—further enriched the interactions. “The delegation goes far beyond that because it also fosters many connections,” she points out.

For Luiz Miguel Garcia, president of Undime Nacional, the experience was a unique opportunity to engage with the global community. “One of the issues that caught my attention the most was artificial intelligence, which came up in many discussions. At the same time, we visited Oxford, one of the world’s most traditional universities, which provided a balance between debates on emerging technologies and the well-established science of major universities,” he says.

The field trips provided food for thought and inspiration. Marcia Aparecida Baldini, Secretary of Education for Cascavel (PR) and president of Undime Paraná, notes that the British schools presented new possibilities. “The visits were excellent because they revealed many avenues of possibility regarding the use of artificial intelligence and new classroom models focused on active learning methodologies, which enable students to interact better with one another and with their teachers,” she says.

Lilian Bacich, director of Tríade Educacional, emphasizes the importance of the meeting at King’s College, which focused on teacher training and assessments for learning. “It was amazing—a space for exchange and collective creation. We learned about Colabits, a tool developed by Brazilian Arthur Galamba, and I left feeling inspired to bring back relevant information to implement in Brazil,” she says.

One of the highlights of the trip was the Bett Show UK, held at ExCeL London, where the Brazilian delegation had access to the three-day event. For Alexandre Marino, a professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, attending the event is essential to keep up with the rapid pace of change in the sector. “We live in a world of constant transformation, and it’s very important to stay up to date and at the forefront of these innovations. This year was the ninth time I’ve attended the Bett Show UK,” he says.

Alberto Brasileiro, the IT coordinator at Colégio Damas in Recife, emphasizes the importance of combining tradition and innovation. “Although we’ve been in business for 187 years, we use an innovative approach. Attending the Bett Show UK makes all the difference because we learn about the latest developments in the market and can apply them to enhance our students’ learning,” he notes.

By combining hands-on experiences, discussions about the future of education, and networking opportunities, the Bett UK 2025 Delegation helped connect Brazil to the major global trends in the education sector.
