Bett UK Delegation: A Busy Week of Visits, the Trade Show, and Networking Exceeds Expectations
With a packed schedule—including visits to educational institutions, meetings with officials, and peer-to-peer discussions—the Brazilian delegation’s activities at the Bett Show in London concluded on Friday (the 26th), yielding valuable insights and new connections. For Adriana Martinelli, content director at Bett Brasil, the week “exceeded expectations.”
“This initiative has strengthened human relationships, fostered deep reflection, forged meaningful connections, inspired innovative ideas, and, above all, spurred the development of new projects and partnerships,” she says. According to Adriana, the group’s dedication to these activities contributes to the development of quality education in Brazil.
In addition to participating in the Bett Show and visiting educational institutions, the week also featured a series of exclusive opportunities for learning and networking, such as events at Samsung and Google. Among other activities, on Thursday the Getúlio Vargas Foundation hosted a luncheon that brought together representatives from state education departments present in London. During the fair, Intel invited the delegation to an exclusive presentation of its new products. On Friday, after the fair closed, Google hosted a networking dinner.
In 2024, the delegation saw record attendance, with more than 190 people. For Claudia Valério, executive director of Bett Brasil, the increase in size reflects the importance of the topic in the country. “We wrapped up with very positive results and a lot of praise. The increase in activities was proportional to the increase in attendance. The growing interest in participating shows that people are aware of the issues and eager to gain more knowledge and engage with innovations,” she said.
Claudia argues that the delegation’s greatest asset is precisely its range of activities. “We take advantage of the week in London not only to explore the event’s new offerings but also to give participants a glimpse into the schools here, providing an opportunity to experience different realities and broaden their horizons. We leave feeling very happy, already thinking about what the 2025 delegation will be like,” commented the executive director of Bett Brasil.
In all, 11 educational institutions were visited, namely: The Grey Coat Hospital; St. Joseph’s Catholic School; St. Augustine’s Catholic School; Ashcroft Technology Academy; Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School; King’s College; Kingsley Academy; St. John XXIII School; the University of Cambridge; King’s Cross Academy; and Warwickshire College. At these institutions, the Brazilians were able to speak with educational administrators about the initiatives, proposals, and dynamics of the British educational system.
The experience was indeed positive and allowed them to achieve various goals, the participants say. “I’m leaving absolutely delighted with everything I’ve seen here. It broadens your horizons—and once it does, there’s no going back to the way things were,” said Ariane Rodrigues, an English teacher at Colégio Dinâmico, who decided to join the delegation for professional development.
Ricardo Schneider, CSO of SQUARE Knowledge Ventures, believes it was also a great opportunity to do business. “We had the chance to meet in person with people from the education sector around the world and have relaxed conversations,” he said.
The Bett UK delegation received support from Edlatam Alliance and Systemic Bilingual, as well as partnerships with the British Consulate General, Google for Education, and Samsung.
