This Thursday (20), Bett Brasil held the event “Reflections of the Brazilian Delegation at Bett UK” on the FIAP campus in São Paulo. The purpose of the meeting was to share insights into the experiences of Brazilian educators at the Bett Show UK—the world’s largest education and technology event—and during their technical visits to British educational institutions.

Speakers included Lilian Bacich, director of Tríade Educacional; Rebecca Rios, educator and Quizizz representative in Brazil; and Tiago Maluta, an artificial intelligence specialist at the Lemann Foundation. Gabriel Kineippe, Special Projects and Key Account Manager at Bett Brasil, served as moderator. The guestsshared their insights on the educational practices they observed in London, emphasizing aspects such as student autonomy, a sense of community among teachers, and family involvement in the learning process.

Lilian Bacich emphasized the importance of exchanging ideas between the delegation members and the audience. She noted that one of the most memorable aspects of her experience in London was realizing how British schools balance discipline and autonomy, and that this allows students to develop independence under the guidance of their teachers.

The director of Tríade Educacional illustrated this point by recalling a hands-on activity in which six- and seven-year-olds learned how to start a fire in a controlled manner. “In Brazil, this could raise countless concerns among families, but there it is seen as a form of learning,” said Lilian.

For Rebecca Rios, the immersion experience highlighted the students’ active role. “It was impressive to see how students are prepared from a young age to create, lead, speak in public, and take initiative without relying exclusively on the teacher,” she noted. According to her, one of the most striking aspects was the students’ involvement in the school’s day-to-day life. “During one of the visits, we were guided by a teacher and the students themselves, and we discovered that the older students act as mentors to the younger ones.”

Speaking about the Bett Show UK, which drew more than 35,000 people this year, Rebecca highlighted the importance of striking a balance between technological innovation and social-emotional development. “With the growing adoption of artificial intelligence, it’s essential that we don’t lose sight of the human factor,” she emphasized.

The educator also highlighted the importance of networking among members of the Brazilian delegation. “Being surrounded by people who believe in education and want to bring innovation to Brazil is enriching. In addition, the fact that we were together during Bett UK—whether in the lounge or while riding the subway—allowed for constant, quick exchanges of insights in real time.”

Tiago Maluta, meanwhile, discussed the technological trends presented at the Bett Show UK. “I went with a very specific focus on public education in Brazil, looking at literacy solutions and middle school, and one of the things that caught my attention the most was the strategic approach to the use of technology. It’s not about introducing technology just for the sake of it, but about applying it with a specific purpose in mind,” he explained.

Claudia Valério, the general director of Bett Brasil, noted that this was the first edition of an event focused on the post-Bett UK delegation. “Our goal was to foster networking among delegation members and allow those who weren’t in London to learn more about the Bett Show UK and the British education system. In addition, it was a way to ‘whet the public’s appetite’ for Bett Brasil, which also showcases educational innovations and solutions aligned with global trends.”

At the end of the meeting, a discussion was held with the participants, who had the opportunity to ask questions about the British educational system and take a tour of the FIAP campus. The event “Reflections of the Brazilian Delegation at Bett UK” was supported by Start by Alura.

Bett UK 2025 Delegation

During the educational immersion program in London from January 20 to 24, more than 200 Brazilian educators visited renowned institutions such as Oxford, the Open University, and King’s College. One of the highlights was the use of technology in British schools: while each student has an electronic device for academic activities, the use of cell phones is discouraged within the school environment.

Regarding the Bett Show UK, participants highlighted the presence of brands offering solutions focused on educational assessments and social-emotional aspects, which underscores the need for a balance between artificial intelligence and the human role in education.

In light of the world of innovations and technologies, the speakers highlighted the impact of networking on the Brazilian delegation, with constant exchanges of experiences that provided a broader perspective on the challenges and solutions applicable to the educational landscape in Brazil.
